Meet The Founders

Tinequa Bedford, Executive Director and Founder With Alvin Bedford, Co-Founder

God gave Tinequa Bedford a vision to bring forth a foundation for the multitude of spiritually, physically and emotionally abused victims. After sharing the vision with Alvin, her husband, Damaged Goods Organization, Inc. was established on March 27, 2018.

Tinequa’s Story

Tinequa experienced abuse for 11 years. The traumatic ordeal left her feeling hopeless, scared, and unsure of who she was and which way to turn in life. She sought help from herself and her family through mental health programs and counseling. Tinequa moved from living in a homeless shelter to a permanent house. 18 years later, by the grace of God, she continues her spiritual growth and service to the groups of victims-survivors who are still trapped in the vicious and deadly cycle of abuse.

NOW AN OVERCOMER!

In addition to her pastoral leadership and passion for answering her calling to support those who have suffered from physical, emotional, and spiritual abuse, Damaged Goods Organization provides a comprehensive system of referrals, resources, support, and group services. The organization operates with the foundational scripture of Jeremiah 29:11, offering hope and healing to victims of abuse and helping them regain self-sufficiency and emotional well-being. Overall, Tinequa has more than 15 years of experience.

Tinequa has now earned an Associate Degree in Sociology at Antelope Valley College. Praise the Lord for she graduated as an honor student!

In the fall of 2024, Pastor Bedford will continue her educational journey at California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB), where she will pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Religious Studies. Her certifications further demonstrate Tinequa's passion for advocating for the abused as a Domestic Violence Advocate and Sexual Assault Advocate, which she received on June 21, 2019.
